About Huntersville:
Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson are the northernmost towns in Mecklenburg County and form the area known as "North Meck". Huntersville has seen significant growth in the last decade with many residents opting to live near Lake Norman -- the largest man-made body of fresh water located entirely within North Carolina.
Incorporated in 1873, Huntersville was named in honor of landowner and cotton farmer Robert Boston Hunter. The town incorporated in 1873. Since 1990 Huntersville has grown from a tiny town of 3,000 residents to over 40,000 residents today. (From the official website of the Town of Huntersville).
About Cornelius:
Cornelius is Mecklenburg County's youngest town, incorporated in 1905. Although the Town was originally incorporated as 'Liverpool', the Town's name was soon changed to Cornelius to honor J.B. Cornelius who was the principal stockholder in the area's cotton mill. Cornelius has a population today of nearly 25,000. (From the official website of the Town of Cornelius).
How to Get to Huntersville and Cornelius:
From Charlotte's center city travel north on I-77 about 12 miles to exit 23 or 25 for Huntersville and exit 28 for Cornelius.
