1501 Queens Road

Louis Asbury, Sr. designed the Myers Park United Methodist Church at the intersection of Queens and Providence roads, originally a location of a community store. Built in 1929, the building closely imitates medieval Gothic churches. While affluent Charlotteans may have preferred Neoclassical and Neo Colonial motifs, Asbury personally preferred the Gothic Revival style, so it is not surprising that he selected this form for the design of Myers Park United Methodist Church.

Continue along Queens Road, cross Radcliffe Ave. and walk on to the Queens University Campus.
