2013 marks the ssecond "Hola Charlotte!" festival, a celebration of heritage, customs, music, dance and art of Latino culture from many countries of Latin America.
From the festival's official site, highlights include:
Latin music, dance, cuisine and art in Uptown Charlotte, along with a Salsa dance contest, authentic Latin food and beverage, cultural dance performances, Zumba demos and instruction, Latina heritage and contemporary fashion, Latino art street show/ meet and greet local artists, live Latin musical performances and singers, interactive kids zone with Dora the Explorer, picture of bands, performances, contest, kids area and games. A portion of the proceeds from the Hola Charlotte festival will benefit LAWA’s Women Scholarship Fund and help send local Latina women to college.
