As quickly as summer begins, it seems to wind down, but that doesn't mean there is a lack of things to do this August in the Charlotte area There are many concerts and sporting events including preseason Carolina Panthers football games. Don't miss the 2009 Charlotte Shakespeare Festival Aug. 5-16, featuring performances of Julius Caesar for free at the McGlohon Theatre. Also check out Queen City Theatre's production of Altar Boyz, the off-Broadway spoof about a Christian boy band.
