What stores are open on Christmas in Charlotte? Here's how things look for the holidays in Charlotte this year.

For shopping, most stores like Wal-Mart and Target will be open Christmas Even, but will close early. For Christmas day, only a few stores like Walgreens and CVS will be open. Most movie theaters are open on Christmas Day as well.

Federal offices: Closed Wednesday

North Carolina and South Carolina state offices: Closed Tuesday-Thursday

Charlotte city offices: Closed Tuesday and Wednesday

Mecklenburg County offices: Closed Tuesday and Wednesday

Mecklenburg County court: Closed Tuesday-Thursday

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools offices: Closed Tuesday and Wednesday

Charlotte-Mecklenburg libraries: Closed Tuesday and Wednesday

County Parks and Recreation: Offices, recreation centers, aquatic facilities and nature centers closed Tuesday and Wednesday

Banks: Closed Wednesday

Buses and light rail: Open Wednesday.

CATS: Operating on Sunday schedule

Mecklenburg County Solid Waste: All facilities, including Compost Central, and offices closed Wednesday

Garbage pickup: Closed Wednesday with one-day delay, Friday customers receive service Saturday

Mecklenburg county ABC stores: Closed Wednesday

FedEx: Closed Wednesday. FedEx Custom Critical available

UPS: Closed Wednesday . UPS Express Critical available

U.S. Postal Service: Closed Wednesday
