CNN Picks Up Queens Student's Webcast

Monday June 29, 2009
When the news last week broke about South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford's affair, there was no real reason for me to comment on it. However, Queens University senior James Rice changed that this week.

Just a mere 10 days ago, Rice began his webcast, a daily 120-second news digest called The N News, on YouTube. He had no idea that national media giant CNN -- let alone anyone -- would be looking. But when the Sanford story broke, Rice's video account of the love e-mails proved a perfect inclusion in Jeanne Moos' "Moost Unusual" show which aired Friday, June 26 on CNN.

"If Jeanne Moos is listening I just want to thank her. I am a CNN Junkie! Everyone who knows me knows this," Rice said.

Rice will be a senior at Queens this fall majoring in communications. He will also serve as Managing Editor of the university's newspaper, the Queens Chronicle.
