Christmas Town USA is Open!

Sunday December 2, 2007
Celebrating its 52nd year of holiday light displays, the town of McAdenville, NC sits approximately 20 miles east of Charlotte right off of I-85 and welcomes everyone to see its creations. Last year, more than 375 live trees were decorated ranging in height from 6 feet to more than 90 feet, some requiring as few as 500 lights and some needing as many as 5,000.

A favorite spot for viewers is the lake which is situated near the heart of town, featuring 33 trees that ring the lake, ranging in size from 12 to 40 feet.

The town lights up nightly through Dec. 26:

  • Monday - Friday 5:30 - 9:30 pm
  • Saturday & Sunday 5:30 - 11:00 pm

The best time to view the Christmas Lights is Monday through Thursday. Traffic is heavier Friday through Sunday, and waits of 30 to 45 minutes or longer are not unusual. And all the lights are on timers, so even if you're waiting in line, it's lights out at 9:30 p.m. on weeknights and 11 p.m. on the weekend.
